MOLE : Episode One

Mole is considering setting up home with Porky with a view to marriage but is worried about protecting his assets. Richard Sedgley & Co have drafted a pre-nuptial agreement. Mole has been advised that the agreement is intended to be based on both parties making full disclosure of their financial circumstances and that Porky should seek independent legal advice. The attitude of the English courts to pre-nuptial agreements is developing and recent cases have given support to the principle that adults may enter into voluntary arrangements and expect such arrangements to be effective. However, the courts retain their discretion.
