Divorce
It is a sad fact that a large percentage of marriages end in divorce. Divorce is an unpleasant thing for anybody to go through, it is a stressful and worrying experience. However, at Richard Sedgley & Co Solicitors we can help you through this in a sensible and non-confrontational way.
There is only one ground in order to be granted a divorce and that is that the marriage has irretrievably broken down. This ground then has to be supported by one of the following five facts:-
- Adultery
- Unreasonable behaviour
- You have lived apart for a period of 2 years (and the other party consents to a divorce on that basis)
- You have lived separately for 5 years
- Desertion without your consent for at least two years
